Why do we define people by gender? What does gender entail? Will harassment ever stop? Are men really the worst… or victims of the patriarchy too? These are all questions I’ve been asking myself when I got fed up with gender norms. My research path led me from feminist literature to psychology reports and anthropological data to philosophical viewpoints. To my surprise, patriarchy has not always been the norm. History has been concealed. Women have been dehumanized, shamed for claiming their rightful place, and persistently viewed as inferior since ancient civilizations. This entrenched behaviour continues to manifest in various forms to this day.
