I often get asked why I explore so many fields. Aren’t all great artists doing the same? From Michelangelo to Leonardo da Vinci, the most celebrated creators have always pushed the boundaries of multiple disciplines, blending art, science, and innovation to craft their masterpieces. In my experience, this also applies to the greatest modern-day artists, including Iris van Herpen. Her groundbreaking fashion designs merge haute couture with cutting-edge technology, drawing on inspiration from architecture, nature, and even physics. Using multiple disciplines, mostly within the Fall 2021 collection, I once again got reminded that creativity knows no limits.
